At the hotel

City Inn Palace Hotel is designed with accessibility in mind. Available facilities for guests with reduced mobility:

• Accessible main entrance — step-free, automatic doors
• Accessible restaurant (Al Khan) and café
• Accessible conference and event halls
• Accessible public toilets on the main floor
• Elevator access to all guest floors
• Wheelchair-friendly parking spaces in the underground garage
• Service animals welcome in all public areas and guest rooms

On this website

We aim to comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Specifically:

• Semantic HTML structure with proper headings, landmarks, and form labels
• Sufficient colour contrast (text passes WCAG AA contrast ratios)
• Resizable text up to 200% without loss of functionality
• Keyboard navigation support throughout
• Descriptive alt text on meaningful images; decorative images marked as such
• Forms with clear labels, validation messages, and error recovery
• Bilingual support (English and Arabic) with proper language tags and right-to-left layout for Arabic
• Mobile-first responsive design that works at any viewport from 320px upward
• No content that flashes more than three times per second
• Site is operable with screen readers (tested with VoiceOver, NVDA, TalkBack)

Known issues we are working on

• The embedded Google Map on our Location page does not have a fully accessible alternative within the iframe — text directions and a "Open in Google Maps" link are provided alongside.
• Some legacy photos may not yet have detailed alt text — we are reviewing and improving these.

Compatible browsers and tools

The site is designed to work with the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. It also works with major assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android).

Reporting accessibility problems

If you encounter accessibility barriers — at the hotel or on this website — please tell us. We take these reports seriously and work to fix them quickly.

This website was rebuilt in 2026 with accessibility as a primary design constraint. We review the site against WCAG guidelines on each major release and welcome feedback from users of assistive technologies to help us do better.
